Privacy Policy
Your membership of Poole u3a - a contractual relationship - allows us to maintain a computer database of the personal information you have supplied on your membership application form and the details of the classes you have chosen to attend. The database is stored securely and used for keeping you informed. about the programme of classes, events and activities that are offered, at local and national levels.
The database also allows us to produce mailing labels, class lists and accurate management statistics. It helps us to contact members rapidly, whether by post, telephone or email. Without it, effective communication with members is impossible. Only the Poole u3a office and some members of Poole u3a Committee will use the database.
The information held by us will only be shared with:
(i) Pu3a’s electronic-mailing company to facilitate email communication
(ii) the Third Age Trust (TAT), the national office to which all u3as are affiliated, which uses an external company to send you their publications ‘Third Age Matters’ and ‘Sources’
(iii) HMRC in the course of mandatory financial management (e.g. Gift Aid)
Other than that it will not be disclosed to any other third party.
Please also be advised that you can at any time (i) request a copy of the your data that we hold (ii) update your data that we hold; (iii) request that it be deleted or (iv) request that your data be not used for either bulk electronic-mailing or for the direct mailing of TAT magazines, by contacting Poole a3u Office on 01202 678113 or email [email protected].

Yola: Our website runs on the popular Yola.com CMS and cookies are used to store basic data on your interactions with Yola, and whether you have logged into the site. We use a session cookie to remember your log-in for you if you are a registered user and we deem these as being strictly necessary to the working of the website. If these are disabled then some functionality on the site will not work.
